Getting a Sketch Off: Late Night Color Session of Loid Forger from Spy x Family

I recently came across the Nightwing #96 cover by Bruno Redondo, and I love the nod to the Brady Bunch. I completely forgotten about that show, and once I saw that cover, all the memories came back. I wanted to do my own spin of the Brady Bunch intro, but using characters from Spy x Family. I am still using these sketches to practice with crayon brushes.

So far this is the first image, and there is no real time frame for the final image. I plan to take my time and make sure to focus on the main thing, which is to learn and experiment. When I focus on an end project, I tend to play it safe and get with what I know. I have been enjoying breaking away from how I think about colors and coloring my sketches. So far my approach with my line art is still the same, but there is just one extra step.

Stay tuned for the following images in this series. Check out my Twitch and join me when I go live: https://www.twitch.tv/iamcharlesjw

One Love,
